A Heart of Forgiveness

Do you have someone in your life that you struggle to forgive? Maybe it’s a family member who hurt you, a friend who betrayed you, or maybe even someone who cut you off in traffic!

Since we are all human, it's inevitable that we will both be hurt by and hurt others at some point in time. And because of this, throughout our lives, we will be presented with moments where we have the opportunity to forgive.

The thing is… maybe we don’t even want to forgive them! I don't blame you. Forgiveness isn’t always easy. But did you know we are called to forgive one another? God clearly says so in his word!

 

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. - Ephesians 4:32

God has forgiven us of all of our sins, so how can we not also forgive others!

If you struggle to forgive, pray that God would give you a heart of forgiveness. To see others the way He sees them. To be gracious in choosing to forgive someone, even though they hurt or wronged you.

And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. - Mark 11:25

Take some time to reflect and pray today. Is there anyone that God brings to your mind that you haven’t forgiven? Bring that person to the Lord in prayer and pray that God might give you a heart of forgiveness towards them today! God will meet you there!
